Anchovy Haters, This Caesar Dressing is for You!

I’m a self-proclaimed Caesar snob, and my go-to Thick and Creamy Classic Caesar Dressing is the real deal: made with egg yolk, anchovy, and an immersion blender for that perfectly silky, restaurant-style texture.

But sometimes I just want something easier. No blender to clean, no emulsifying, and no half-used tin of fish leftover in the fridge. 🙅🏻‍♀️

That’s where this shortcut version comes in. It’s every bit as rich and savory as the classic, but it comes together with tangy Greek yogurt (which I always have on hand!) and a handful of pantry staples instead.

And honestly, if someone served it to me and didn’t say a word, I’m not sure I’d guess it wasn’t a legit, traditional version. Coming from a Caesar snob? That’s really saying something! 💁🏻‍♀️

So whether you’re anchovy-skeptical, skipping eggs, or just feeling a little lazy, this no-fuss dressing checks every box. ✔️✔️✔️

This Greek Yogurt Caesar Dressing is fish-free, full of bold flavor, and ready in 5 minutes!

How to Make Caesar Dressing Without Anchovies

An overhead shot of ingredients displayed in various dishes on a white marbled surface: lemons, Greek yogurt, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic, capers, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, and water.
Greek yogurt gives this shortcut Caesar its signature creamy texture, while capers, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce layer in all that punchy, briny flavor—no fish needed.

Choosing the best yogurt for your Caesar. ⇢ For the best flavor and texture, I recommend full-fat Greek yogurt. Since traditional Caesar gets its richness from eggs and oil, you want a yogurt with that same natural creaminess. Low-fat works in a pinch, but in all my testing, nonfat just fell a little flat.

…and whisk until smooth and creamy. Season with plenty of black pepper and salt to taste. With so many salty ingredients in the mix, you shouldn’t need much!

If the dressing feels a little stiff, just add some water to loosen the texture until it’s just how you like it.

Description

This thick and creamy Greek Yogurt Caesar Dressing delivers a bold punch of classic Caesar flavor—no anchovies, no eggs, no blender required!

Made with a handful of simple ingredients, it comes together in just 5 minutes. It’s perfect for tossing with salads, drizzling in wraps, or dunking as a dip. Once you try it, you’ll keep a jar in the fridge at all times!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt (use 5% whole fat or 2% low-fat for thick and creamy results)
  • ½ lemon, juiced (approx. 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped or grated
  • ¼ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons capers, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • kosher salt and ground black pepper, to season
  • 2 tablespoons – ¼ cup water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix the Greek yogurt Caesar dressing: To a small bowl, add the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, parmesan, capers, olive oil, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with ½ teaspoon kosher salt and ground black pepper as desired. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Thin the dressing with water, adding gradually until your desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  2. Serve: Enjoy immediately. This creamy, anchovy-free dressing is perfect for a Classic Caesar Salad or Chicken Caesar Wrap. It also doubles as a thick and creamy dip for everything from a  veggie platter or a pile of crispy parmesan chicken wings. Sky’s the limit, you really can’t go wrong – get creative and have fun with it. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Dietary restrictions: To ensure your Greek yogurt Caesar dressing is vegetarian, be sure to use your favorite rennet-free parmesan cheese and vegan Worcestershire sauce.
  • Storage: Store prepared Greek yogurt Caesar dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. The dressing may thicken as it chills – just whisk in a little water before serving to reach your desired consistency.
